Physical Description: Lithe, athletic woman, 5'4, short dyed blonde hair,
green eyes, heavy eye makeup at times, chain smoker, wears her dog tags
and wedding rings on a chain around her neck at all times. Is wearing
khakis, tank top, and disheveled dirty white shirt. (lost her shoes in
the crash and capture but was given some hiking boots to wear.. when
outside) Socked feet when confined due to her 'outbursts.'
Personality Description: Tough, Defensive, does not easily trust others,
extremely independent, wants to be loved and trust others but...
Family:
History: Born from an affair with between her mother and Jack's
father. She attended the same grade school and high school as Jack
and they were close friends as children and in their teens. She was like the little sister
he never had but Jack does not know that they are related.
Christian kept his infidelity a secret from Jack’s mother and
his son and has always maintained that Cara’s mother and Cara were simply good friends of the family. Cara has always known they were half siblings and it has always torn at her that she could not say something
for fear of being financially cut off by Christian which fueled her resentment
of her father.
Cara looked up to her big brother immensely and they spent time together bonding.
Angry over the denial of parentage by Christian, Cara wanted to show Jack the
unlimited ideas of the world and going off and doing your own thing, which
their father Christian resented since Christian was absolutely set on Jack being
the dutiful son and following in his footsteps. So when Jack went off to
medical school Christian pushed them away, promising money to her mother and Karen
to disappear. Then conveniently told Jack that they had died in a boating
accident off the coast; the bodies were never recovered.
Seeing the whole sordid affair and subsequent fallout as a potential blight on
his career and reputation as well as an embarrassment if anyone were to find
out, Christian learned from his mistake and kept Claire apart from his family.
Karen and her mom never got the promised money and her mother went down into
alcohol abuse, leaving Karen to fend for herself. So she changed her name to
her nickname that Jack had always called her, Cara.. (Karen Ann combined) and
joined the military and got shipped out.
Met her husband Josh Miller in a war zone and married him when they were on leave
in Germany. Then he died during the Iraqi war, in front of her eyes and she was
left alone again, without someone to care for her. That was the moment she thought
she could never love again, if it meant being torn away from them in the future.
She hardened herself to things and got through. She started taking risks then,
not caring, just wanting to take out her anger and despair on the enemy.
The military didn't see her mind set the same way though and granted her compassionate
leave from the military due to the trauma of losing her husband. So she arrived home
with nothing and no one, just in time to see her Mom, terminally ill, put into a
hospice care facility she couldn't afford.
She was struggling to figure out how to finance all of this when Christian sent her
a round trip ticket to Australia, to settle some regrets and pay her and her Mom...
finally. So she took the trip, intent on settling this disaster of a family situation
the second she laid eyes on Christian. She figured he either forgot or meant to
ditch her.. or she had missed him on the timing, as he never showed up.
Not knowing what to do she got on the plane to go home, resenting her family even
more and deciding to look into stripping as a way to make quick cash, when she got
home. She wanted to go into law enforcement but she couldn't afford the time
for training with her Mother sick the way she was.
Then the plane crashed..... she was in the tail section. Dazed, and bloody from
the crash, and a bit drunk from several drinks, she had to try to calm herself
about her life, but stumbled right into the Others hands.
If she knew she would have fought, but she didn't stand a chance and that’s
when she began to try and make the Other’s lives a living hell. She would go
to extremes of not eating their food until the point of exhaustion if it meant
to annoy and frustrate them. Coming from the war she had seen and all she had
witnessed in her life, no one was going to make her do anything against her
will. And she loved to take any moment she could to take her aggression and
hate on the world out on the Others, any chance she got, regardless of the
pain of anything they inflicted on her; scars from it were badges of her honor.
